We still have far too much untyped code in the GUI, so functions get values which don't match their type all over the place. :-/ What this means: Currently it is effectively impossible to refactor even "obvious" things in the GUI without risking major breakage. This reverts commit 37599628a948897378edbed0f1b08e191c9177f6.
