Features: * Auto-formatted via autopep8. * Fully typed via mypy, no unmaintainable dict/tuple/list-Kung-Fu. * pylint-clean with pylint's out-of-the-box configuration. * For everything there's a single source of truth, so e.g. the commandline help is guaranteed to be in synch with reality (which it is *not* in the current EC). The code is not yet used in the EC, this will be one or more separate commits.
