Users may therefore expect the 2.7 target to install 2.7 (but leave 3.8 alone) and the 3.8 target to install 3.8 (but leave 2.7 alone). This becomes important in times where 2.7 is increasingly irrelevant in our code base. Another way to look at it are simple maths: 2.7 = 2.7; 3.8 = 3.8.
