Dear users of Check_MK,
it finally has happened - the stable version 1.2.0 is here! The first
try of the release yesterday revealed a severe problem on older RedHat
Systems. So we decided to postpone this announcement and provide now
the version 1.2.0p1 where all critical problems should be resolved.
The new version 1.2 commences a new aera for the Check_MK project,
since now for the first time we have a complete web based configuration
of Check_MK based monitoring.
As apposed to legacy systems like NConf, NagiosQL and others, WATO
is really dedicated to Check_MK and brings all of its features to
full blossom - the most important of which are the automatic
service detection (inventory) and a rule based configuration.
Features that make even installations with a couple of thousand hosts
a joy.
Furthermore - WATO introduces a hierarchical folder system
for your hosts with the possibility to bind rules and also
permissions to folders.
WATO also supports the easy setup of a centralized distributed
configuration of several monitoring sites.
Also the classical Nagios objects like host/contact/service
groups, timeperiods and contacts can be managed.
At this point we wish to say thank you to all that are using
Check_MK and helped us with their feedback, ideas, bug reports,
patches, funding and also motivation.
Best greetings and thanks for using Check_MK,
Mathias Kettner
